The Oregon Oak Communities Working Group would appreciate your help in
collecting data on oak restoration projects throughout Oregon,
Washington, and British Columbia. We have put together an Excel workbook
database that needs input from folks that have completed, are in the
process of completing, or are considering doing an oak restoration
project. Our goal is to have a fairly comprehensive list of complete,
ongoing, and potential oak restoration projects that will be available
to view on the Oregon Oak Communities Working Group web page (those
folks that are supplying information on potential restoration projects
will of course enter only a small amount of information into the
database). Once the database is complete it can be used by folks
interested in doing restoration projects that want information, such as
methods, results, monitoring activities, and lessons learned. It will
also be a resource for groups that are tracking oak restoration projects
on the regional and landscape level.
Click Here to download a zip file of the
Oak Restoration Database (.zip format, 704kb) to your computer.
You will notice there are five spreadsheets within the Excel workbook:
- 1) YOUR DATABASE, which is the blank database for you to populate,
- 2) DEFINITIONS, which provides definitions for the different fields,
- 3) YOUR PHOTOS & MAP if you have any to provide,
- 4) EX. BALD HILL PARK is an example of the type of information needed for the database, and
- 5) EX. PHOTOS & MAP OF BALD HILL, which provides some examples of photos
and the map that would be appropriate.
Note that three database fields
(directions, legals, GPS) are optional for those who would rather not
provide location information to the public. Please send or email only
your database and pics/maps and not the other worksheets.
After populating the database you can then e-mail (or mail a CD if it is too large) your database to Greg Fitzpatrick.
